Dear friends and esteemed ACC colleagues,
With deep passion and unwavering commitment, I am honoured to announce my candidacy for the Presidency of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC).
Just like all of you, I have a great passion for cycling and have much to offer in serving the sport and this is evidenced in the last 26 years of my life that has been dedicated to the development of cycling which has been the hallmarks of my success.
Today, I stand ready to lead our shared vision: an ACC that champions unity, integrity, and growth across Asia’s diverse and vibrant cycling communities.
Having served in various levels and positions starting at the grassroots level and having served as UCI International Commissaire, it has given me the opportunity of looking at the sport from all angles and as such, understand cycling much better and understand issues faced by Organisers
I was elected as UCI Management Committee Member as the Asian continent’s representative in 2017 and once again in 2021. For that, I thank you. Now, I am ready to put my best years ahead towards the betterment of cycling on our amazing continent.
As the President of Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF), one of the leading National Federation in Asia, I was able to bring in new initiatives to the Federation in order to modernize and profesionalise it and ACC will be no different.
Cycling is a key Olympic sport and in Asia it has seen an unprecedented growth. Asia has a huge potential that needs to be tapped into and I believe I will be able to use my experience and expertise to realise its full potential.
It is my vision to make ACC a professionally run Organisation with a structured administration that will be at hand to serve its affiliates in Asia. ACC as such, will be a well-respected federation to its affiliates, the National Federations and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
I have always raised concerns on various matters that I see in ACC and as Hon. Vice President of the confederation,
I am made aware of a huge desire and the need for change in governance expressed by National Federations to which must be urgently addressed. I will put my energy and time to ensure the change takes place as desired by the National Federations.
With the support of national federations, and the entire cycling family I promise to be unifying factor within our Confederation aiming at reinforcing the fundamental values of our organisation through solidarity, ethics, attractiveness, true transparency, good governance, credibility and to preserve the legacy of Asian cycling.
ACC must exist to serve our National Federations, hand in hand, in partnership and I will make it my priority to see that we achieve just that. I will further ensure that we will place the interests of the National Federations at the forefront with a strong leadership and strong representation.
The 45 currently accredited National Federations account for 60% of the global population. I will be relentless when it comes to the ACC taking a leading role in pushing our members to a more prominent position on the global stage.
This vision for ONE ASIA is bold yet achievable. Together, we can transform the ACC into a world-class institution, advancing cycling as a universal and accessible sport throughout the continent. It is my commitment to lead with transparency, innovation, and an unwavering dedication to uplifting every National Federation
I believe I have the qualities and credentials that it takes to lead ACC to greater heights and by focusing on the 5 main pillars; Growth, Development, Solidarity, Education and Professionalism, we can propel Asian cycling to unprecedented heights. Let us build an ACC that upholds integrity, fosters inclusivity, and champions the unifying power of sport.
I humbly ask for your support to help me lead our mission to establish ONE ASIA — a vision of unity, progress, and a brighter future for cycling across our continent.
